Request Copies of Audio Recordings and Transcripts

Hearings held by the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) are recorded or have a court reporter. All requests for audio copies of hearings are processed by a Media Technician within the Information Technology Department.

A written request is required to obtain a copy of the hearing CDs, and must include the following information: case name, OAH case number (and soundex number for the Motor Vehicle Administration cases), hearing date(s), location of the hearing, and the name of the Administrative Law Judge who conducted the hearing. Requests should also include your name, address and daytime telephone number. Audio recordings are retained for a three year period.

The OAH charges a fee of $10.00 for the first hearing CD, and $5.00 for each additional CD needed to duplicate (burn) a hearing.

Media Office personnel will contact the individual making the request with the total amount due to obtain an audio copy of the hearing. Monies are due in advance, if the recording is mailed to the requesting party, or at the time of pick-up from the Hunt Valley location.

The OAH does not process transcription requests in-house. For further information, please contact a Media Technician.

Accepted forms of payment: Checks and money orders payable to the Maryland State Treasurer.
